Used to fix chiminea

I barely had my chiminea a year and the top got knocked over and had broken into pieces. I tried this stuff and hoped I could salvage my chiminea. I actually bought two tubes but only needed one. I tried to keep the thickness closer to 1/8" and no more than 1/4" thick. At about 15% into the project I remembered that I needed to wet the cracks before application. So I used a spray bottle with water. I allowed to dry 24 hours and then applied more to areas that showed some small gaps. I waited another 24 hours to dry. I took a green scouring pad (I didnt have sand paper) to smooth out rough edges. I left it out in California sun to further dry aboyt 4 hours. Then went through the curing process of heating it under <200°F for 30 minutes and then >500° for about an hour. Most areas looked good. I had some minimal bubbling. I think maybe I needed to cure longer at <200°. Final step was to paint. I think it turned out pretty good. It saved me from having to buy a new chiminea. We shall see how it holds up. I'll update within the next year.

Very durable firebrick cement

I bought this firebrick mortar to repair couple broken firebricks in my fireplace. After applying water to both surfaces of firebrick I've applied mortar and let it dy for 24hrs. After letting It dry I've carefully installed firebrick back in the stove and made fire.Firebrick hasn't cracked in the areas of repair. I still have most of mortar left for future repairs and this is great deal compared to buying new firebrick.

Followed directions, still the mortar had bubbles

Using a caughing gun, it went easily into the cracks. Easy to smooth out using wet finger. Followed instruction if crack was larger than 1/8". Applied caugh three times, waiting 24 hours between applications. Placed a small elec oil heater in the firebox and let run for 3 days at 160 degrees. Then followed directions to "cure" caugh by small fire, medium fire and larger fire. The caugh bubbled anyways. As long as it keeps from cracking and falling apart, then I'm happy. We shall see after the winter fires are over.

Works as advertised

Worked great for me. I had several large cracks in my firebricks. I recommend doing the curing process as it shows. I missed a spot and didn’t cure it and it bubbled.
