Strepsils Honey and Lemon - Pack of 8 Lozenges

As a secondary school teacher surrounded by germ-spreading teenagers all day, I'm constantly battling some sort of throat issue. After trying numerous remedies, these Honey Lemon Strepsils have become my absolute go-to.The honey lemon flavour is pleasant without being sickly sweet like some throat sweets. You can actually taste the honey rather than just artificial flavouring, which makes them much more palatable when you're taking them frequently.What sets these apart from regular throat sweets is how effectively they numb the pain. Within minutes of popping one in my mouth, that horrible razor-blade feeling starts to subside. The effect typically lasts about 40-50 minutes for me, which gets me through most of a teaching period without having to constantly sip water or struggle to project my voice.The pack of 36 is brilliant value compared to smaller packs. I keep one box in my desk drawer, one in my handbag, and one at home - essential preparation for winter term! The individual blister packaging keeps them hygienic and prevents them sticking together like some loose lozenges do.I particularly appreciate that they work for both viral and bacterial throat infections. During a particularly nasty bout of tonsillitis while waiting for antibiotics to kick in, these were the only thing that made swallowing bearable.One unexpected benefit is that they seem to help temporarily clear congestion too. Not sure if that's the menthol or something else, but it's a welcome bonus when you're dealing with a full-blown cold.Do they actually fight infections as claimed? Hard to say definitively, but I do find I recover faster when using these regularly at the first sign of throat discomfort versus trying to tough it out.Only downside is they're not suitable for young children, so can't share them with my 6-year-old when he's poorly.If you're prone to sore throats or work in an environment where you need your voice to function (teachers, call centre staff, etc.), these are honestly worth keeping on hand at all times. They've saved my lessons more times than I can count!

We find that these lozenges are good to use at the first sign of a sore throat, and for us it doesn't usually develop into anything worse. However, when it does they are helpful with the symptoms and they taste quite pleasant too. We always keep a pack in the cupboard at home, just in case they’re needed.

I feel there's something like a generational split over cough sweets. The older gen seem to like Tunes, which many of us younger gen find do nothing. The reverse is also true, where the older gen mostly seem unimpressed by Strepsils, but younger people like myself still find they are the best for a sore throat/cold.

So much better than cheaper brands. They work really well and worth the money.

Ease a dry tickling throat quite quickly.Flavour is better than different brands and others we've tried.Great sized pack so definitely value for money.

These little stepsons that you suck really do work every quickly. They don’t have the bitter taste to them and the flavour is great. I think that being able to buy them online helps people like me who cannot easily get out to the chemist

The best out there
