CUISINART EasyPop Hot Air Popcorn Maker (Red)

We love popcorn, and we were using the bagged microwave popcorn.......but we wanted to "healthy-up" our favorite evening snack. We bought this air popper and it is great! Only a few "mice" get out of the hopper into the bowl.......the kids love to watch it pop full force and fill up our bowl in just a few minutes'' time. It is safe for kids to use without getting burned. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and comes with a few great recipes for Kettle Corn and Caramel Corn...... This is just what we needed (ok, maybe the Kettle Corn and the Caramel Corn aren't quite as "healthy" for us because of the sugar content, but we can make popcorn without added oil and chemicals, so there's that!). This was a good purchase so far.

Well, the popper is warming up, it throws out a lot of kernels, and so for best results, you need to tip the unit back a bit while it’s warming up but once the popcorn starts popping, it works great!

I own a lot of cuisenart products, I’ve been very happy with all of them. This Air Popper is no exception. There are basic tips to the art of air popping: preheat your popper about 3 min (super important to fewer unpopped kernels), shut off, place large bowl under opening, pour in exactly the amount of the provided cup in lid (do not mound it), turn on, tilt popper backward 20° until popped kernels fill the lid area (super important to prevent molten hot kernel shrapnel firing out at you, it hurts), set upright, let it do its thing. Works like a charm every time, leaves maybe a dozen unpopped kernels. The popping corn you use is IMPORTANT, make sure whatever you buy is specifically for air popping, yes it matters in the end result. We use Franklin’s Gourmet Organic Popcorn here on Amazon. It’s beautiful every time. My advice, don’t go with ‘cheap’ you will be disappointed every time. Highly recommend this popper.

Nothing to dislike about this popcorn popper. Works well and easy to clean.

Only thing I don’t like is that when you add the popcorn, a good amount blows out before getting a chance to be popped. Other poppers you can “reload” these kernels but there is no way to do that with this popper. What kernels do get popped come out fine.
