My Yahmaha amplifier has flip/squeeze plugs, not the round ones I'm seeing here. Will these work?
Has anyone tried to solder wires into these connectors for a better connection?
Are the outer sleeves/barrel "holding in place" after they're securely tighten? I have similar plugs from other company that "unscrew" themselves
is this a 4mm plug?

Nice quality, dual screws to secure the wire is great, & excellent for 12 gauge wiring.

I really like these banana plugs. They handle 12 gauge wire with no problem and the dual screws in the barrel do a good job securing the wiring. Very easy to get the cable connected and they hold firmly in banana jacks. They also look great and feel like quality built plugs. The price seems good to me and I would buy them again.

Work great with minor annoyances

Well made, Nice 2 level screws on plug that were easy to adjust for speaker wires. One plug's cover took considerable force to unscrew. It was fine replacing it. Biggest issue for me is that the plugs are hard to differentiate - the black (negative) plug and the red (positive) plug have very little color on them - only on the text at the top of the plugs. This draw-back could be easily fixed, IMHO! Only 4/5 stars due to these very minor issues. Recommended!

Make sure to connect the wire to the banana connector then slide the cover over.

These worked wonderfully, especially after my dyslexic sliding the boot on before connecting the banana connector to the unit. After that being done twice might bring registered that it goes on after and kept it in Resident memory. It actually has a secure very firm connection to the unit. The installation took about 45 seconds to a minute and a half per side. Would totally recommend these.

Major upgrade from the original ends that came with my cables.

I originally purchased two sets of Arklove 1pcs 6ft 14awg Premium Heavy Duty Braided Wire for a amplified sub shaker set up I built, that is attached to my computer chair. And even though I gave myself several feet clearance so I could pull my chair out to unplug from the desk, I still managed to tug on one of these plugs a bit to much and it broke. So after looking at the way they built that original plug, I realized that it was an inferior design. It used a pin and swivel set up that only had about 1cm of contact with the base "thus why it broke so easily" but also uses a free spinning center. And that spinning center in theory is supposed to tighten up when inserted by putting pressure on the two ends and thus create a contact point.Problem is, it doesn't work. When inserted, it should not spin and give a tight contact. But it didn't. So while my shaker is bumping around doing it's thing, those contacts are getting jostled around and giving bad contact. When the these new ends arrived, I quickly realized why the centers never seated on those old ends. They are way smaller than these. When you plug these in the first time, they are really tight. But after that, they will go in without too much hassle, but stay tight. These are built to much better specs and are a much heavier gauge of metal. The stems are robust and make solid contact and don't vibrate when inserted.Since my cables had the same type of contacts, it was super easy to pull the old ones off and replace. My only small complaint is that I wish the colors were more visible. It's not a deal breaker, but you have to make sure you are putting them in the right way. They came in a medium size heavy duty zip bag with smaller zip bags with each pair. None were damaged or scratched up.Would buy again.

Well....it's different!

For the most part every item I purchase from Amazon I try to do my research. What are my needs? How I do I want it to work for me? Do I have choices on brands and designs? Not the most pressing questions, but its a start. Once I have established all that I need, I make my purchase. I have learned that I am not going to "make it" work. It has to work exactly how I want it. We tend to settle for the sake of the project or we don't want to deal with the return of stuff. There is times that I am not sure if I want to keep certain items, as I am on the fence sometimes. This is one of those times. Not only that, I wait on doing reviews as sometimes a product works right out of the box, but then fails in the longevity of time. Not saying these banana plugs are not meant for the long haul.At this point I will reference the pictures. The packaging made me step back for a bit. The banana plugs come in pairs in a plastic baggy. The baggies come in a larger plastic baggy that also has a resealable top. Just swipe your thumb or finger to close the bag. I do have to say, I am sort of use to other companies sending there banana plugs in a slim box. In the slim box is a plastic transparent mold that holds the plugs in place. By the looks of the quality, maybe the money is being invested in the right place. This design is very typical, it just adds a very unique sleeve. It is unique in the sense of how you have disassemble to access the screws to secure the wire. The sleeve has to be unscrewed, and once you feel the banana plug separate from the sleeve you have to push it backwards. The tip of the plug has the cuts that let the tip spring and fit snug in any terminal. Which brings me to the part of the tip, it will get stuck on some of them as your pulling the sleeve off. It is ok to use a bit of pressure. Nothing that requires to have tools involved, or creative ways to remove. Once the plug has been removed you have access the two screws that you have to unscrew to lock in your wire. Once that is done you insert the sleeve through the top of the plug and screw back on to fully assemble properly. The hole that has been drilled in the plug seems to accept a 12 gauge wire, maybe even a 10 gauge. This banana plug sort of reinvents the wheel on a slim plug design. What makes it different is the sleeve that gives it a more professional look by covering the screws that hold the wire in place. All in all, the quality of the banana plug is very good. I gave it less stars for "ease of use". This is mainly for the sleeve that is one extra step you have to take once joining the plug and the wire. There are other designs that maybe easier to use. Which in other designs all you need is a wire cutter. This plug requires a wire cutter and a screw driver.Happy shopping!
