Really expensive but works
Expensive but works with tension.

It works
It does add some instability. I bought the one with no resistance. Mostly, i use it in a reformer when doing pikes or running man. With pikes, I can more fully work my lateral obliques. This helps for that and for other applications where you want to add instability or rotation. It is smooth. I sometimes feel like the ball of my foot is going to break through the plastic - but I didn’t want to pay extra for the maple version.
