TRX Training RIP Trainer Basic Kit, Essential for Strengthening the Core

The rip trainer, like the original TRX system, represents a great functional workout. The beauty is the simplicity, which for some could be a criticism if you are looking to lug around heavy weights. Having had the original TRX for about 6 years, I was actually surprised by the 20 minute video which you can download upon purchase -- it's very useful, and goes through a number of excellent exercises. Additionally, the trx website and youtube are excellent resources for additional ways to punish yourself.For those you mentioned the "serious flaw" about being unable to thread the cable through the eyelet -- consider this a bit of a darwinian challenge. If you can't figure that out, perhaps lugging around the big heavy weights represents the highest order accomplishment. Hint, thread thru webbing, not the eyelet. To make it even easier, buy a couple of caribiner to very quickly switch between the various strength cords.Again, I highly recommend a quick peek at some of the exercise videos out there - while it looks deceptively simple, the workouts can be incredibly difficult. And, the true advantage is the portability which is second to none -- nothing like packing two small bags (trx and rip trainer) for the trip to the cottage, and the gym comes with me.Enjoy!

got this as a birthday present for hubby who plays senior softball. he is able to use it to better prepare for the season. I use it too for more generic exercises like bicep curls. Very versatile. Doesn't take up much space. Love it

You can’t beat the quality of TRX. I marked down one star because it is pricey. I love the versatility of being able to do challenging workout exercises that are HIIT and low impact.

I have always used free weights over the last, almost 40 years, in my workouts. After some major surgeries, I worked with a personal trainer who introduced me to the Rip Trainer as a alternative to free weights. I have found I can obtain the results I want from my workouts without using free weights, although I do still retain a couple of free weight exercises in my routine.I also travel in the winter and will no longer need to join a fitness center during my stays away from home as I will simply take my Rip Trainer along and work out wherever I might be staying.Easy to use, good instructional video, many options for use of the Trainer. Quality is excellent.

Three great things about the Rip trainer. 1) It really provides a great workout, especially for core and lateral twisting and balance. I use mine with an Indo balance board as a paddle board simulator and it works great. 2) Very compact. Store it in a corner or under a sofa. All you need is something solid to attach it to like a hook in a wall stud. 3) Very well made. It's not just an expensive bungee cord that would wear through quickly and snap with the repeated major pressure and release an exercise session involves, but a well designed integrated and rugged unit that will last for a very long time.

We bought this after checking all the details of the description, manufacturer, pictures, etc. Upon arrival we discovered it is a low quality fake product after comparing it with an original piece from TRX Training. It is a shame Amazon sells this kind of merchandise.
