Very sturdy
We have a high cupboard in our office so this comes in handy along with it being a good footrest. Maybe due to age but needed a rubber mallet to help get the 3 sections into the 3 slots. This steel step stool is great.

Best Short Person Accessory Ever!
The very BEST accessory for short people on the planet! Got this for my daughter to be able to reach stuff in the kitchen, and it's the best thing ever! Stand up to be tall, sit down to be small. lol

A functional design classic
This classic industrial design product is as useful and attractive now as when it was first released. It glides easily and sets firmly in place when you step onto it. It is easy to move around and doesn’t take up much room. I have one at home, work, and have bought them for gifts.

I feel like I'm back in the 70's, but that's a good thing
We have 2 of these now. The rubber lip around the bottom eventually wore out on our 40+year old one, and we bought another for inside. The old one we still use outside in the garage, where I don't care if the metal might make a mark or two in the garage floor. It does everything it's supposed to do - it's very versatile, and much easier to use than most folding ladders. The only down side is that it doesn't fold up like a folding step-stool does. But it's extremely solid (easily olds 300+ lb person), no flex or movement. It's just genius.Plus, I remember having these in my school library in the 1980's, and loved it then, too. So it has some nostalgia value for me, too!Great product!

Not as heavy as the ones I remember from the school library, but it's sturdy enough
This is a case where buying the name brand is worthwhile.Kick stools were a common sight in the school library when I was a kid. This kind would glide easily over carpet or hard floors, and could be easily kicked into position or out of the way, but as soon as you stepped on it, it became a stable solid platform. Recently I needed something for the kitchen and I decided to buy this model. It's strong but fairly light, and rolls easily just like the ones in the library.Assembly is very simple, but does require a little strength to get the legs into the correct position. Once assembled it stays together well.

A near perfect step stool. I own two
In the world of great useful inventions, the cramer kik step ranks high. I've just purchased my second one. I bought the first one probably about 6 years ago and use it almost daily. It hasn't worn out, rusted, dented or become any less useful than it was the day I bought it. I decided that I needed one to keep downstairs as well. True, I could cart it up and down as needed but I need it in both places so frequently that it just seemed time to purchase another. And I got a great price on a "used" amazon warehouse deal. There is nothing at all used about the item I received. It is a clean and dent free beautiful silver stool that will fit in perfectly in my home based photo studio.Aside from being effortless to use and incredibly sturdy, this stool is also pretty darn good looking. I bought the copper color originally and it fits in really nicely in my copper, brown and rust kitchen. There is nothing ugly about this stool. Granted it wont fit in well with some decors, but not because it is unattractive. The folks at cramer saw a need to go beyond the library drab stool and infuse this with some great colors for home use.One last important point.... I am a shrinking 5' 7" (probably down to 5' 6" or less by now) and I can easily reach my 8' ceiling when standing on this stool. And I never feel even slightly unsteadly on it. Just roll it to wherever you need it and then when you step on it the thing anchors itself until you step off. I understand that if you weigh less than 30 pounds it wont anchor successfully but I am guessing that if you weigh less than 30 pounds you aren't doing the sort of home maintenance this thing was designed for.BOTTOM LINE: Best in class step stool. Incredibly well thought out and rock solid. Highly recommend
