Technical review
PHOTO EXPLANATION: In the squares you can see my best attempt at full ink coverage as well as single line filling. I gave the closest common color name, the closest hex code, and the contrast rating. Accessibility standards for the web suggest a minimum contrast of 4.5:1 or higher for small text (14pt) and 3:1 or higher for large text (18pt). For reference my handwriting is close to 18pt font. What this means is that if you have small handwriting, bad eyesight, or are in low light, you may not be able to read what you write with many of these colors.THICKNESS: these pens have the same thickness as a pilot G-2 07mm pen which is the golden standard of office supply pen enthusiastsPEN FUNCTIONALITY: I have not tested these extensively, but after the test page in the photos I can say these are slightly scratchy, but on par with the pilot G-2 07mm pen. They are more scratchy than a TUL gel pen, and less scratchy than a sharpie .05mm S series pen. I had no problems with skipping, but wouldn’t be surprised if they started skipping in the future.COLOR VARIETY: the colors are nice, but most are a little light if you are trying to write large amounts of text with them. The ink in many cases doesn’t match the barrel. See the photo and below where I give the closest hex color and contrast rating.BARREL: The barrel doesn’t feel premium, but also doesn’t feel cheap. Considering the price, I find it to be of good quality. It has a matte almost soft touch finish while still being made of hardened plasticINK: These pens come with a good amount of ink for the price, and the ink dries quickly. None of them had leaked when they showed up, if they start to leak I will update my review.1. Dusty pink/flamingo pink #FFACA5 1.80:12. Bubblegum pink #FFCAD5 1.43:1 (very hard to read)3. Ink dries up, pen is scratchy on paper
These are horrible!I got them to use for college classes, so that I could color coordinate my notes and keep organized.Unfortunately, one college semester is 7 weeks long, and then there are 2 weeks off.During this 2-week time period between each of my semesters, the pen I'm currently using dries up and stops working.I guess 2 weeks is long enough for cheap, uncapped click pens to dry up...The pens are minimal and attractive, as well as the ink colors, but if they don't work, it doesn't make much difference.

Great for the price!
Great pens. Write smoothly from the start. Even the light pastels have fully legible ink.

Glides perfectly!!
As a frequent note-taker and doodler, I’ve tried my fair share of writing tools, but gel pens always seem to stand out. Here's my take on their performance: **Writing Performance**Gel pens are unmatched when it comes to smooth ink flow. The ink glides effortlessly on paper, making writing feel almost frictionless. Whether you're jotting quick notes or sketching intricate designs, the consistency is remarkable. They also dry relatively quickly, reducing the risk of smudging—an essential feature for left-handed users.### **Ink Quality and Color**One of the highlights of gel pens is their vibrant ink. The colors are rich, bold, and stand out even on darker paper. Some brands even offer metallic or pastel shades, perfect for creative projects. However, the ink tends to run out faster than ballpoint pens, likely due to its thicker consistency.### **Design and Comfort**Gel pens come in various ergonomic designs, often with rubberized grips that make extended writing sessions more comfortable. Their lightweight build ensures your hand doesn’t tire easily, and many models are refillable, making them eco-friendly and cost-effective in the long run.### **Value for Money**Although gel pens tend to be pricier than traditional ballpoint pens, the superior writing experience justifies the cost. Some premium brands offer exceptional longevity, but even budget-friendly options perform surprisingly well.### **Verdict**Gel pens are an excellent choice for anyone looking for smooth, vibrant, and reliable writing tools. Their versatility makes them ideal for everyday writing, artistic endeavors, and professional use. While they have minor drawbacks, their benefits far outweigh the cons. If you haven’t tried a gel pen yet, you’re missing out on an elevated writing experience.**Rating: 4.5/5**

Good ink flow, lovely colors, and no streaking!
I previously bought the Mr. Pen "vintage" gel pens, and I love them so much that I immediately started looking at the other colors available. These pastels are wonderful, too, and they look great on both light and dark paper. I've tried other pens that are supposedly good on dark paper, but they don't work nearly as well as the pens in this Mr. Pen pack do. The Cricut pens made for dark paper are streaky, some don't work at all, and they're overpriced for what you get. The Jelly Roll pens I bought for the same use are good on dark but useless on white paper. But these Mr. Pen gel pens are awesome on both. Good ink flow, lovely colors, and no streaking. I love them!

These pens are terrible!
These pens are absolutely terrible. The clicker to retract or extend the pens does not work well, one pen is currently stuck retracted no matter what I try. Writing is NOT smooth, it feels like I am scratching the paper as the pen is very sharp and ink doesn't glide out like a standard gel pen. The positives, the ink doesn't smear, and the colors are very pretty. I bought these to write notes for college class on just standard college ruled notebook paper, but it is a miserable experience using these.

Dry out quickly, good for short notes
I like the colors but they dry out pretty fast if you’re writing a lot. I think they would be better for writing quick, small notes.
