Trekmates Adventure Food 1 Person Camping/Trekking Main Meals - Mince Beef Hotpot

I see reviews like instructions arnt clear,I mean these people must be blind it is very clear on the right hand side of the packet numbers 1 to 20, 7 being the reccomended fill level to use your noggin and it's not that difficult,very tasty I'm a chef of 8 years and its really good for a dehydrated meal especially after a 15 to 20 mile hike in the mountains,ultra lightweight,ready in 8 minutes,very filling,alot of calories. Need i go on?

The product is good. The instructions for rehydration could have done with being printed larger to show exactly how much water is needed rather than just relying on the markings on the pack that continually vary as the meal absorbs the water.Meal in itself was good and tasty for what it is and I am getting some more.

I purchased these for my sons DofE Silver expedition as when they came back from their practice the team came back and complained about feeling hungry. Having used freeze dried expedition food before i knew immediately what was needed. I personally haven't used expedition food before and brought a spare to show my son how to prepare the meals and was pleasantly surprised with how good it tasted.Carbonara Version was the top rate followed by Bolognese and then Hotpot. They are expensive but if space and weight is a factor when backpacking then go for it.

Not my idea of beef hotpot, much more like creamy potato soup with a dozen micro-meatballs floating on the top. Palm oil too.Having said that, pretty delicious and warming after a chilly hike!

You need 400 ml of water to prepare a meal. The volume of prepared food is sufficient for one person

My daughter used this on her Duke of Edinburgh expedition. She described it as having a disgusting flavour and it being crunchy when it should be soft. Occasionally she said she’d come across a really crunchy ball that made her gag. Don’t buy this unless you know you really like this kind of food.

The Beef Hotpot is the business (In my opinion). It is the best of the dried meals.
