I got these to try for my long distance cycle rides. They are good, taste great, provide good energy, and the wrappers being biodegradable are handy too.

Went cycling up Mt Tiede in Tenerife (>2 hours climbing from sea level) and had previously found it very challenging regarding fuelling and having enough energy.This year I had a pack of 10 luchos energy blocks (the pack fit snuggly in the back of my jersey) and a couple of minutes after eating the blocks I genuinely felt a good kick of sustained energy, even when the legs were really suffering!A very minor consideration is that these are best consumed stationery or at very slow speed as the natural vine leaves need a bit of unwrapping.I found them much tastier than all the previous gels I've tried and were very easy on the stomach. The fact that they're vegan and come in compostable wrapping is a bonus! Looking forward to trying the other flavours.

I’m not a fan of gels so wanted something different. I like the fact you could throw the ‘wrapper’ being a dried leaf. It is very sweet! A whole square was too much for a 15k but perfect to nibble on. I only used half at a time. Taste is nice and does the job of quick reboot of energy when starting to flag.

Much easier to use than gels or gummies and I love that the wrapping can be discarded without littering the ground. The taste is great too and it does give you that extra unth needed on any run or workout. My only slight concern is that the wrapping can break or if running in the wet can start to break apart quickly meaning if you don't use a whole block and want to keep it, it's hard to store afterwards.You do get 10 for the price though the taste is great (I have the coffee and Guava) me and a few from my running club have now moved across to these and as more people try and taste them I think most of us will transfer from Gels or gummies.The issues I have with Gels is the packaging and how easily it gets sticky sometimes your hands too, you are unable to discard the wrapper and some do give you issues with your stomach. I liked the gummies but it's not that easy to get them out of the packet plus they do get stuck to your teeth and than you have the wrapper also at the end. These are easy to open during a run, no mess and a quick bite is all you need every now and then. I recommend to anyone to at least try them.

I love these and have told lots of my cycling friends about them and they buy them now too. They taste delicious and they’re wrapped in a biodegradable wrapper, a dried banana leaf that you can crunch up and throw away. They‘re the almost perfect cycling fuel, they make you go faster (not a scientific fact, just my own opinion). The only slight problem is they can get a bit warm in your pocket so don’t leave them for too long, this is why they’re almost perfect. This doesn’t put me off. They’re also great for indoor, turbo training too. No nasty, gut problems with these that some sports fuel can give you, they are all natural. Very small and lightweight, could be ideal for ultra running too.

The product itself I really like. Taste is good, easy to digest and carb content is good.Ironically the issue I have is the packaging. I had these in a front pocket of my running pack on a 40 mile ultra and it rained. They got wet and the packaging isn't waterproof so they became sticky messes in my pack. Tried to sort it but ended up making myself a sticky mess.The next few ultras I've just repackaged them so the smart leaf idea is useless...

I go easy on food when running long, these have not caused problems and taste great. Noticeable energy boost. Even fed the dog half of one to keep him running, he’d eat anything though so can’t comment on guava being a favourite of hounds. Feels weird to litter but the wrappers are leaves, great idea.

I just love the way that Luchos delivers such a comfortable and virtually instant but then slow release energy boost without any kick-back or sickly feeling.It's 100% environmentally sound, long lasting and compact so super convenient.Its my go to boost now.
