Amazing product - 100% recommend

Really good product. Thought I would give DIY waxing a go as professional waxing is so expensive, and in my experience not always that good. I am by no means a professional but didn't experience any of the problems that some customers have listed below e.g. flaky wax, difficulty in removing wax etc. If you have never had a professional wax then I wouldn't advise to try this as your first attempt because there is a technique to it which I picked up from watching what my beautician was doing. I used the Mylee wax heater and this tub fitted perfectly inside. It took around an hour on the hottest setting to fully melt so allow yourself lots of time. Once the wax has properly melted turn the heater down to medium to stop the wax being too runny. I applied talcum powder to the area I was waxing which is meant to ensure that the wax doesn't stick to the skin and just catches the hairs which stops it being too painful (it definitely was still painful but that is to be expected!) I applied the wax in the direction of the hair growth using a wooden spatula and did very small sections at a time leaving a 'handle' at the bottom. I waited about 30 seconds for the wax to go hard and pulled it off against the direction of the hair growth. It pulled almost every single hair out leaving your skin really smooth and pulled all the hairs from the root. It took me a really long time to do the whole area but that's the price you pay for waxing yourself, hopefully I will get quicker as I get more practice in. Overall a great product that will save you a fortune if you can tolerate the pain / have the time

Excellent for DIY use, especially with an extra pair of hands!

I was spending around £90 every 6 weeks for a complete wax in the salon (full legs, armpits and hollywood), which long term was a ridiculous amount of money.I decided to have a go at home waxing and roped my poor husband in to help me (I'm not a small girl, there was no way I could reach where I wanted to on my own!). The first few ventures were agonising (it's not as if he does this on the side or anything, it was his first time too!) but after a few months, we got to the point where he was just as good as my salon therapist.A few points for those who haven't used this before.1. Spread towels down, to help with any wax spillage. It flakes easily when it dries, so even if it gets on stuff, it shouldn't be a huge issue.2. I haven't tried Gigi's pre wax spray, I use outback organics pre wax cleanser and body oil. Cleanse with the cleanser and some cotton wool and then spray the oil on the area you're about to do, and then wipe off any excess. Don't apply it too far in advance because it will absorb, and you'll know it as soon as you try to get the wax off!3. Use a spatula and apply in small strips- you can make them bigger as you get used to it, but it's more manageable this way. It's also way more comfortable to do smaller strips down south- although you can go too small and it will end up taking ages and hurting more in the process. Find the right balance.4. You probably know this, but wax in the direction of the hairs, and remove in the opposite direction. Your position can affect how it comes off, if you aren't at a good angle to strip it off, you end up effectively pulling it off, and that just hurts and leaves a mess behind. Find the right spot.5. Once the wax has been applied, use a cotton wool ball or pad, dipped in water and squeezed, just to dab on the wax. This will help harden the wax to a removable state without letting it harden too much. If you try to remove it too early, it's just going to stretch, and if you leave it too long it will become brittle, and snap.TOP TIPS1- Use the oil beforehand. It makes a HUGE difference2- When you spread the wax, use the spatula to make a small tag to use as a handle once it's firm. That avoids a lot of pain in trying to lift up the end on each strip and pulling at hairs as you do so,3- When you remove, do it like you mean it. I know it seems like going slow will hurt less, but you would be wrong. It's like a plaster- the faster you do it, the better it is.4- When you've stripped an area, press something to your skin straight away, it helps with the sting. Your hand is good, or a cold flannel, aerosol (it's nice and cold) etc.Personally, I keep the hard wax for sensitive areas and use the veet style cartridge roll ons for my legs. Additionally, when I was going to the salon, I was ending up with loads of really bad ingrowing hairs, which were getting infected and gross. I don't have any issues like that with this product.*Thrifty eco note: as gross as this sounds, if you have a log burner or open fire, toss the used wax into egg cartons with tumble drier lint, wrap in newspaper and tie up, and you have a guaranteed fire lighter. They're amazing. And made completely from waste. Win win..

Best wax ever for bikini area

This wax is fab for my bikini area. I used a pre and after wax lotion i would always recomend doing this especialy seen as on your first few goes at this you may have a bit of wax left behind. The results where briliant i hardly had any red marks and the next day they had almost completley fadded. Normaly when i wax this area i get left with bruises and ingrown hair (even though i use a warm gold wax), but this wax didnt do that and i was left with smooth soft skin. I'm sooo glad i tried it! I only gave it four stars because I had some trouble when i tried it on my legs ( it left lots of hairs still there), i think its best for coarse hair even though it says you can use it all over the body .

Do not recommend

It's ok but you need heater it's really hard to melt.I boild water and put the can in hot water to melt the put it only melts the first layer. Rather buy cream wax it's much better

Gigi wax was recommended to me by a friend who does waxing professionally ...

I purchased this wax as I was sick and tired of shaving daily.Gigi wax was recommended to me by a friend who does waxing professionally and to start with I was quite sceptical as to if this wax would give me the same results as I had previously experienced at a salon.Well I can tell you that this wax is absolutely AMAZING.To start, I have super course hair, that normal Veet wax will not remove, but Gigi removes every single hair in the area that its placed. The great thing about this is that you don't need to mess around with applying paper or material sheets to pull the wax off, you simple flick over a corner when set and pull off in one go!TIPS:I would highly recommend that before starting the waxing process you wipe a very small amount of organic coconut oil onto the skin, VERY sparingly as you don't want to ruin the contact between wax and skin.Don't allow the wax to get to dry and brittle as its very hard to remove and hurts like hell. You should wait about 30 seconds after applying to remove the wax.Apply the wax in an even thickness, this ensures it catches all the hairs and comes off much easier.I can honestly say I will continue to purchase and use this wax, in fact I have just ordered another 3 pots so I don't run out! =D
