Q: Is this a stereo cable

I used this to connect audio cables (3.5m) from a TV to my headphones, which use a smaller size input. Works great, now I can hear the TV much better.

Q: My tv has l&r rca and i want it to connect to my speaker with 3.5mm jack.. will it work?

just as long as your speakers are powered or you might have to use a amp,, normally outputs from sources like tv will not have the power to run speakers,,,standard outputs from rca or a headphone jack will need to connect to a reciever or amp and you would connect your speakers to the amp/reciever,,ie AVR etc etc, self powered speakers will be fine for a direct connection but in general a receiver will offer better options and more devices can be added .

Q: Will this context to rca-style spidf inputs like on the focusrite scarlett?

the RCA leads on this only share a ground, so no, this would not be the correct cable for a SPDIF connection.

Q: with this give sound from my Sony audio out to my sterio reciever so i can hear through mt surround sound speakers?

Yes you should be able too. I have an old song stereo receiver and I can plug that in and have surround sound, but you would have to have it as a multichannel. Since it’s just a single headphone jack

I use these for a few different applications, for my android car stereo, connecting sub out to my power amp turns a mono jack into 2, and I have tv cards for my computers and these work as pin jack to stereo rca in, works as advertised
