Harley-Davidson Bar & Shield Bar Stool with Back Rest HDL-12204

I bought this as a birthday present for my father, as his Harley barstool was ripped and needed to be replaced. He absolutely loved it. It looks much nicer then the original one he got straight from Harley, and it had a backrest which he said was a nice bonus. It took me at the most 20 min to put it together and it's very sturdy too. He uses it all the time.

I ordered these bar stools for my Harley-Davidson themed bar. I used them for the bar itself and for my matching Harley-Davidson pub table. They are the perfect height, glossy black and have the traditional bar & shield logo. They are comfortable and look great. We did have a few issues with faulty pieces, but the problems were corrected by the supplier (they even provided one-day shipping to resolve - great customer service).

Overall this looks good, but the hardware is cheap which degrades the whole thing. Allen screws round out or strip before you get them tightened. Sleeves thru the legs are too long and prevent snugging down the legs, so they are all loose when assembled. They ship 6 3/4" discs to put inside the feet on two of the legs to fix the wobble inherit to the design. That has to be the most unique thing I've ever seen to fix wobble in a leg. Put this up against another Harley stool I've had for 10 years, the upholstery and piping is far less, even the caps on the feet have been cheapened. Will I keep it, yes. Still looks good, probably will replace the hardware within the year. If I wasn't use to the quality of the original seat, this may have got another star. I would have gladly paid another dollar to use quality bolts and nuts (there's only 14 bolts).

I have a shorter non-padded garage stool that I have used for years and besides being hard, it is just too low. I wanted something a little taller and a little softer for my senior bones. I ride a Harley and didn't want something that looked like it belonged in a house so this fit the bill. This is for my man cave, and you can never have too much Harley stuff.Just the right hight and comfortable. The seat and the back are covered in plastic so it might stick to you in hot weather but hey, Harley guys are tough, right? The swivel is nice and I like the ring to put your feet on. There is some resistance when you swivel so you may or may not like that. Let's put it this way, you won't spin around like some chairs do.Quality is good for the money. I was careful with the fastners. I tried using the stamped steel wrench that came with it for about two minutes then went and got a 10 mm socket and driver. I think you could easily destroy the threads so don't put any muscle behind it.The base plate that does the swivelling came with the top and bottom holes lined up and there is no way you can get the bolts into the frame and the seat. I tried to turn it so the holes would offset instead of being on top of each other but could not turn it. I finally took it to the garage and tapped it with a hammer to get one side to move.I am pleased and Kotulas got it to me within a week. Made in China and the plastic smells like oil. Not bad unless you get real close.

This made for a great Christmas gift however, it was delivered to our door with the picture all over the front. Wish they would have put it into a regular brown box. The chair is sturdy but does NOT spin (which is the one downfall for me). Sturdy and easy to put together.
