The rice powder is used as both a filler and a flow agent. Because Vitex is a fruit, it contains sugar, and is naturally sticky. Therefore, in order to make it flow into the capsules, a filler / flow agent needs to be added. We use rice powder because it's amongst the most natural options available.

The capsules are completely vegan and certified organic, and contain a dry powder inside. Each capsules contains 500 mg of Vitex. The capsule size is standard "0" size, which generally holds just a little more than 500 mg, depending on the product density. With Vitex, there is generally about 50 mg of rice powder per capsule. The rice powder is used as a flow agent so that the powder can flow into this capsule. A flow agent is necessary because Vitex is somewhat sticky and does not flow without an additive.

The Organic Vitex Powder used in this product is tested both overseas and again upon arrival in the US, where it is packaged, to make sure that it is free from known contaminants, and thus qualifies for USDA Organic Certification.
