The Disney Theme Park Songbook: Remember the Magic Piano, Vocal and Guitar Chords

The arrangements in here are generally very good. I especially like the Fantasmic arrangement. However, as a modern park fan I would like to have this quality for things that are actually in the parks. A lot of the selections here are focused around the Millennium celebration, and just with normal churn a lot of the attractions or events featured don't exist anymore. There are a few "classic" attractions (Pirates, Tiki Room) which are fun additions.

This book contains some theme park favorites as well as a few more obscure tunes. Grim Grinning Ghosts; Yo Ho, Yo Hi (A Pirates Life for Me); Fantasmic; and many more. The arrangements are not beginner level, but don't seem horribly advanced. Additionally, there are a few nice pages of pictures of the various theme park attractions at the beginning of the book. This is a perfect addition to any Disney Theme Park lover's music collection.

Maybe this songbook will rejog those fond memories of Disney's Themeparks. I bought this primarily for Fantasmic (remember, this is piano music), and was impressed with the notation. These songs are intermediate in skill level, but you also get accurate and lively transcriptions as a trade off for difficulty. Though the songs were faithfully transcribed, the cheese factor is strong - limburger strong in some instances. By this I mean today's Disney is trying to tug on those heart strings with some cliche musical phrases and over-the-top lyrics. Here's a sample of the lyrics for "Just One Dream": "So many miracles are happening around us", "Like the Promise of the Sun we're born to shine", "We are the wings and we can fly into forever". OK you get my drift.

Although songs are from older attractions, they are still good to play. Not a bad collection of theme park songs

All my kids love it and it's fun to learn the songs that remind us of our magical family vacation.
