Awesome
These are the real thing... Hornblasters shipped fast and it's a flawless Nathan product. I'm mounting it on a Trailblazer with a custom manifold so that I can mount every bell individually. These things are virtually indestructible. Go loud or go home.

Needs to be louder
Not loud enough could be way louder

Big and beautiful!
Truly, this is an amazing horn set. It's built like a tank and holds up forever so long as you do the maintenance items. When it gets a husky voice or begins to sound squeaky or when a bell or two drops out, install new diaphragms. It's easy and quick. These horns are tuned to D sharp octave scale or B major 6th. They should not be mounted where dirty air or exhaust blow into them. If you are painting anywhere near them, especially spray painting, be sure to cover the bell ends to keep the paint from ruining the diaphragms. A good sounding set will produce a gentle beating effect. Nathan AirChime offers a muting disc set but they don't sound very good so I'd not recommend them. But, and this is extremely important, do not sound them with out ear protection. They are meant for use only on a locomotive. They are not legal to have on autos or trucks even though many people do. Their sound level is exceedingly loud, over 149db, and can cause permanent hearing damage, even deafness. Overall they're a lot of fun in the open country but not for the neighbourhood unless you want to make enemies. These horns were found on Amtrak F 40PH locomotives, numbered from 230, made by Electro Motive div. of General Motors.Trivia; F 40s numbered below 225 were equipped with the mournful sounding P5 Nathan Air Chimes and many freight locomotives used the P3 airchimes. They are unmistakable. I've seen a P3 set on a semi truck but, again, are not legal for highway and street use. Unless you use them for fun in a safe place I do not, under any circumstances, recommend blowing them in public places. The K5LA is used on many Amtrak cab cars, locomotives, including the G.E. Dash 8 32BWH and P 40, 42 Genesis series locomotives and strangely sound slightly sharp and brighter because they are low mounted with the top of the car body below them. They were mounted on the front of the F40PH locomotive over the cab and believe me, they are loud there. Amtrak moved them back to the middle of the F40 non powered "Cabbage Car"s which now serve as a cab/baggage car.
