Francis Illy Y3 Iperespresso coffee machine - Black

Took me a few minutes to work out how it operates, particularly the function whereby it remembers how much water you want, and after which it is single touch. However it is basically a simple machine, that does one thing (makes espresso) and does it consistently excellently. If you pre-heat the cup, temperature is perfect. I bought this system, rather than its George Clooney powered rival, because I like Illy coffee, and they don't provide coffee to Nespresso system suppliers. My friends serve me Nespresso, and its good, but this is just a little better.Machine is plastic and in no way fancy, but its well designed and I have had no problems at this stage, and I have very little manual dexterity.I previously had a machine with a milk steamer, worked poorly and was messy, so I didn't use it. I've got a simple little battery powered whisk if I want cappuccino.

Very slow and unable to change programme ?

i don’t think it was clear this item came from abroad so doesn’t have uk plug...also finding it difficult to adjust amount of water dispensed from each choice ie double / or more or single shot

Pleased with the machine and good service the only problem was that the adaptor supplied to convert from European to UK plug did not fit so I had to change the plug.

Second unit after our first one died without warning. On setting up and priming with water as per instructions a connection inside or a hose burst, flooding the worktop with water. Both units sent to local Illy retailer for repair. Gets one star as the coffee is great when it actually works.

Great machine, I have this and a y5m. This machine heats up faster than the Y5 and makes great coffee. In my opinion the Illy coffee is far superior to other pods; Nespresso and Dolce Gusto

Everything illy is expensive, not sure its better than nespresso, but its fine

Nice coffee but I had it for a year then it sprung a leak inside on to the electrics. Pods are expensive and far from being environmentally friendly so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The design of coffee machine is so best ever I have owned. I aleady have Nespresso Citiz&Milk machine, but I want to try illy's coffee capsule. It is so small that it only requires small area. I strongly recommend it to someone who has plan to buy coffee capsule machine. Just one thing missed is aerochino machine.
