SchradeOld Timer 6OTW Golden Bear 8.7in S.S. Traditional Lockback Folding Knife with 3.9in Clip Point Blade and Wood Handle for Outdoor, Hunting, Camping and EDC

This knife is beautiful w/the desert iron wood scales. If you love the Buck 110 format or the old Schrade/Old Timer folding hunters.....you'd appreciate these. Are they the quality of old.....obviously not, they're made in China nowadays. I think you'll find a great user knife that costs around half of the Buck 110 w/adequate 7CR steel & acceptable quality. If you could only buy one knife like this, I recommend the Buck 110 or 112 for the better 420 HC w/great Buck heat treat, higher quality build & superior hollow grind/sharpness. Me, I'm saving my Buck knives for hunting/caping tasks & beating the snot out of my Chinese made Old Timers. Checkout the 7OT or 6OT if you really want a great user knife....this desert iron wood is something you my want to display.....& it's very inexpensive!! Hope this helps!

I ordered this knife around the same time I purchased the Schrade LB7 "Bear Paw". This knife ("Golden Bear") has a lighter feel, probably because of the wood and only having one metal end stock. The "desert ironwood" looks amazing; this is definitely a nice knife to have laying around for show, and maybe using for household purposes. But because of the lighter weight of the knife body, the balance just feels a little off, especially when compared to the LB7. On my particular knife the lockback mechanism is a bit sticky when trying to close the blade. But it opens just fine, and the blade came out of the box nice and sharp.I would recommend this knife as a nice gift for the knife enthusiast or collector in your life. But for a more solid, tougher-feeling workhorse of a knife, I would recommend the similarly-priced Schrade LB7.

This is a high quality knife. I have read other reviews about other Schrade knives, critizing about not being USA made. It is made in China... and? It is of an outstanding quality. The ironwood handles are just perfect and beautiful. The action and lock are perfect. The blade is razor sharp. You will really feel good to have this knife.

Love it... Its a lot bigger than expected... I bought it as a gift for my brother but when I did, for some reason I thought it was only 3-3/4" long... But when I saw it I realized that was just the blade lol... He wouldn't like it so I kept it for myself and got him a little Buck bobble bladed jack knife at Walmart... This knife is very well made. It's weighty and fits my big hands to a tee!

Mine was better than expected, size and weight I like, locks up very tight, no wobble side way or up or down, good knife for the price and nice looks, also nice sheath

I bought this Schrade 60TW as well as the LB7, which is Schrade's version of the Buck 110. This knife boasts a 3.9" blade, and beautiful Ironwood, compared to the LB7's 3.7" blade. I sincerely believe the blades are identical. I like them both, but will carry the LB7 more often. I have over 300 knives, and each has a purpose and occasion. This 60TW is great for "look at my handsome knife" occasions, but the LB7 is heavier, rugged, and almost identical to the Buck 110.Both the 60TW and the LB7 are good knives. Not great knives. 60TW is a 3.9 Star, the LB7 is a 4.1 star, the Buck 110 is a 4.3 Star. All three knives should have more respectable steel in a time when good steel is both plentiful and affordable.

I own and carry a USA made Schrade 7OT, I love it, it's the icon of an american made knife, built like a tank. I really went against what everyone said and bought this knife, the 6OTW. First off, it's gorgeous, the desert ironwood scales are very attractive, it locks up solid, and the brass shines nicely. Then after playing with it for a while I noticed there's a small spacing between the scales and spine, as seen in this photo, my USA Schrade is tight fit to finish all the way around, and cosmetic flaws like this kill it for me. All in all for 22 bux shipped I think it was a good but just doesn't live up to the standard of the pre 2004 Schrade USA knives. But if you want an attractive lockback that's will probably hold up for a decent amount of time go for it, she is pretty...

Gave it to my son as sort of a rite of passage when he turned 12 and he loves it. Wears it everywhere except to school. Solid build and beautiful. A year later, still in perfect condition.
