if this is any of the following I would like to know the details
support@antonbauer.comAttn: JTSubject: Return for inspection, Model: Titan Twin, Serial Number: 366---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PROBLEM:Plugged the charger in, the normal indicator lights came on, it appeared to be charging.White smoke started coming from the unit. The charger worked without incident the last time used, it had not been moved since the last time used. I’m the only one that uses the equipment.BATTERIES being charged:Proformer Maxx, S/N 31925P04(8) (last digit, unintelligible) S/N 31907P04(8) (last digit, unintelligible) I was working on my computer. I had just plugged the charger in with two batteries connect to it. I noticed a strong ozone tinged smell, could not tell where it was coming from. then white smoke started bellowing from the unit, unplugged it. When it cooled down I removed the batteries and placed it in a plastic bag.I don’t know if you keep records on units serviced. But this unit was sent in for repair after it failed due to a, known issue. Usually, I would not speculate as to the cause of an electrical devices failure, but I usually don’t have items that start bellowing smoke after being used. So, if this is any of the following I would like to know the details:1) a normal failure of the device.2) a abnormal failure of the device.3) we don’t know why it failed.I’d like to have some idea of what happened and why. This is regardless of whether I have to pay for the repair or not. I would feel more comfortable leaving this device plugged in while unattended, if I knew what happened.I initial purchased Anton Bauer equipment on the recommendation of a colleague and its ubiquitousness throughout the broadcast video industry. I have had what I see astwo major problems that seem to stem from intrinsic engineering design issues.Considering how lightly I used the equipment and the number of catastrophic failures Ihave had, I will undoubtedly be switching to a belt battery systems or finding a camera attached battery system that meets my small digital video production companies needs. As a small business, I tend to judge a company as much or more on the level of service I receive when their product fails than on any other single factor. Sales, marketing, market share, industry reputation all these pail in importance to service and support.
